“If Ublend® is cheaper, does that mean you use cheap coffee?” No — it means you’re not paying for hype.Let’s be honest — cutting costs the wrong way often means sacrificing quality, consistency, and support. At Ublend®, we deliver genuine value. That means high-quality green beans, precise roasting, smart automation, and real training — all at a price that makes sense for your café. Some coffee brands charge more simply because of legacy overheads, bloated marketing budgets, or retail markups — not because the coffee is better. In reality, you’re not getting more — you’re just paying more. Why our coffee costs less — without compromising on quality: You're not paying for a big brand name. We don’t charge café owners for the cost of building a national brand, celebrity endorsements, or expensive retail campaigns. You’re not subsidising our billboards or influencer partnerships — just paying for the coffee your customers love. High-quality green coffee only. We work with trusted importers and select coffees based on flavour, freshness, and consistency — not price. Every origin is cupped and approved in-house. No commercial-grade filler beans, ever. Precision Roasting = Less Waste. Our fully automated Brambati system ensures every roast is dialled in with consistency. That means fewer rejected batches, better flavour in the cup, and lower production costs that we pass on to you. Automated, Scalable Production From green bean cleaning to roasting, packing, and labelling, our facility is purpose-built for efficiency and scale. By investing in automation, we reduce reliance on large teams or manual processes — keeping costs down without ever compromising on quality. Direct-to-Café Model. You deal directly with us — the people who roast and pack your coffee — and that transparency helps us keep pricing honest. Private Label Done Right. We focus on helping you build your brand, not ours. You get expertly roasted coffee in your own custom-branded packaging, backed by real support and quality control — all without the markup of a legacy brand. When Others Say “Cheap,” We Say Smart. When competitors can’t match our value, they resort to calling us cheap. But the reality is simple: we offer a smarter, more efficient way to buy and serve great coffee. At Ublend®, we roast for over 100 cafés across Australia — providing consistent quality, fresh coffee, and genuine support. No inflated pricing. No marketing gimmicks. Just coffee that performs, batch after batch. With over 13 years of industry experience, we understand what cafés need: dependable quality, professional training, and transparent pricing. You're always welcome to visit our roastery and watch your coffee being roasted — because we believe in full transparency and stand behind every batch we produce. And if you'd like to hear directly from our customers, we’re more than happy to connect you with a café near you for firsthand feedback. Here’s what sets us apart: Consistent, high-quality coffee — roasted fresh Premium green beans — no filler, no compromise Comprehensive training and hands-on support Smarter pricing — without the brand tax We focus on quality, service, and long-term partnerships — and that’s something the big brands simply can’t replicate.

Do I need a contract with Ublend?Nope — most of our customers don’t have any contract or commitment with us at all. We simply roast great coffee, deliver with consistency, and support our partners — and they keep coming back. We believe in earning your business with quality and service, not by locking you in. If you're taking part in our Free-On-Loan Equipment Program, there may be a few reasonable conditions around coffee volume and loan periods — just to make sure the setup works for both of us. But even then, we keep things flexible, transparent, and focused on helping your café succeed.

Why Are Coffee Prices Going Up?You’ve probably noticed it — coffee is getting more expensive. Here’s why: 1. Climate Challenges - Unpredictable weather, droughts, and frosts in key growing regions like Brazil and Colombia have affected harvests and reduced global supply. 2. Increased Demand - The world’s drinking more coffee than ever — especially premium arabica — which puts pressure on the already tight supply chain. 3. Rising Green Bean Prices - Raw (green) coffee prices have surged globally, especially for higher-quality beans. 4. Shipping Costs Are Up - Freight and logistics costs remain high, and delays in global shipping networks are pushing up overall delivery costs. 5. Currency Fluctuations - Because coffee is traded in U.S. dollars, a weaker Australian dollar means we pay more to bring it in. 6. Higher Labour Costs at Origin - Wages and production costs are rising in coffee-producing countries, especially where ethical sourcing and sustainability practices are in place. Despite these challenges, Ublend® works hard to keep your pricing fair, your coffee fresh, and your margins strong. That’s why so many cafés are making the switch.

Starting an Online Coffee Brand – Help Q&A SheetThinking About Selling Your Coffee Online? Whether you're a café owner expanding into e-commerce or launching a new online coffee business, it's a smart move — helping you build your brand, reach new customers, and create an additional revenue stream. At Ublend®, we make it easy to get started with custom-branded coffee, flexible pack sizes, and expert support. This guide covers the essentials, common challenges, and how we can support you from setup to sales. What Do I Need to Start an Online Coffee Brand? A brand name and logo A website or e-commerce platform Coffee supply (blend, DECAF, single origin, etc.) Packaging (bags or capsules) with your branding A grinder (if offering ground coffee) Shipping and logistics setup Basic marketing strategy (social media, SEO, paid ads) Minimum Order Quantities (MOQ): At Ublend, our MOQ is 50 kg — ideal for getting started without overcommitting stock. Blend Options: You can develop your own custom blend with our team, or choose from up to 15 proven, ready-to-go blends tailored for espresso, milk-based drinks, or filter brewing. Pricing: Purchase pricing for standard blends is driven by both the quantity ordered and the specific blend selected. We’ll work with you to find the best fit for your goals and budget. How Ublend® Helps: Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ): 50 kg Flexible formats: 1kg and 250g packaging Nespresso®-Compatible Capsules: 5 kg minimum = approx. 25 cartons (625 capsules) Grind Options: Whole bean or ground Packaging Options: Black or white foil bags with your logo Competitive Pricing: We offer quality coffee at pricing that supports strong retail margins Cost-Saving Tip: Most online retailers purchase in bulk and repackage into 250g bags themselves. This reduces costs and provides flexibility for different products. With a small bag sealer (under $100), you’ll be ready to go. Custom Branding: On both bags and capsule boxes Most startups use our bag printing service, where your logo and basic information are printed on the bag during packaging. Alternatively, we can supply plain bags, and you can apply your own labels or stickers. Once your brand grows, we can help you design and source pre-printed custom bags to elevate your retail presence. This is a reasonable investment of around $5,000 to $10,000, which includes design, set-up, and the supply of 2,000 to 4,000 bags depending on specifications. Grind On Demand (Recommended): We can grind for you, but in most cases, it’s best to grind fresh to suit each customer’s preferred brew method (espresso, filter, plunger, etc.). This not only keeps your coffee fresher but also reduces packaging complexity and inventory requirements. This is the norm for most small start-ups, as it gives you greater flexibility and control over each order. To do this effectively, we recommend investing in a quality commercial grinder with adjustable settings to ensure consistency across grind types. A reliable grinder suitable for small business use typically costs between $4,000 and $6,000, depending on the brand and features. Common Challenges: Managing multiple sizes/blends Predicting demand & grind types Stock & labelling Keeping coffee fresh Logistics & shipping Standing out in a competitive market Summary Launching your own online coffee brand is a fantastic opportunity to build a unique business and connect with a growing market of coffee lovers. Whether you're starting fresh or expanding your café offering, Ublend® makes the process simple with flexible options, expert support, and access to premium coffee. You can choose from up to 15 proven blends or develop your own, package it under your brand, and start selling online with confidence. From grinding guidance to custom packaging, we're here to support you at every stage. The coffees we produce typically retail between $50 and $80 per kilo, depending on the blend, format, and target audience. The market is very crowded and competitive, so it’s essential to invest wisely and build a strong, value-driven brand proposition. Make sure your business case supports this pricing — including planning for online advertising, SEO, packaging, and fulfilment.

How to Make Cold Brew and Nitro Cold Brew in Your CaféTwo drinks, one brew method—easy, smooth, and seriously popular. Cold brew coffee isn’t just a summer trend—it’s become a staple offering in cafés all year round. It’s smoother, less acidic, and naturally sweeter than hot-brewed coffee, making it a hit with customers. Want to take it a step further? Add nitrogen and you’ve got a show-stopping nitro cold brew that pours like a Guinness and drinks like silk. Best of all - With one simple brewing setup, you can offer both. The best coffee for cold brew is typically a medium to dark roast with a smooth, low-acid profile. Blends work best, offering balance and consistency, while single origins like Brazil, Colombia, and Guatemala also perform well thanks to their chocolatey, nutty, or fruity notes. Flavour-wise, look for chocolate, caramel, nuts, and mild fruit — avoid high-acid coffees unless you want a brighter, niche style. Ublend® can help you choose or create the perfect cold brew blend for your café, whether you're after bold and rich or smooth and fruity. We supply custom cold brew coffee, ready-to-brew or ready-to-serve, all under your brand. Start With a Cold Brew Maker Whether you choose the iKegger Cold Brew Coffee Maker or the Toddy® system, both are perfect for café use—simple, efficient, and scalable. What you need: Coarse-ground coffee Filtered water iKegger Cold Brew Bucket or Toddy system Filter bags or reusable mesh filters Brew method: Combine ground coffee and water in a 1:5 to 1:8 ratio (by weight). Stir gently and let it steep for 12–24 hours in a cool space or fridge. Strain through a filter to remove all coffee grounds. Once brewed, you’ve got a rich cold brew concentrate you can use in two ways: Option 1: Classic Cold Brew Serve your cold brew as-is—clean, refreshing, and easy. How to serve: Dilute the concentrate 1:1 or 1:2 with cold filtered water. Serve over ice. Optional: Add milk, alt-milk, or syrup if requested. This version is great for fast service and customers who want a smooth, chilled coffee without bitterness. Option 2: Nitro Cold Brew For something a little more premium, inject your cold brew with nitrogen. It transforms the drink into a creamy, cascading experience—no milk required. What you need: iKegger Mini Keg System (5L or 10L) Nitrogen regulator + N2 gas bulbs or small cylinder iKegger 2.0 Stout Tap https://www.ikegger.com/products/cold-brew-coffee-maker-nitro-coffee-keg-package?variant=43540513980571 Infusion method Pour your brewed cold brew into the mini keg. Seal it and charge with nitrogen at around 30–40 PSI. Let it sit for a few hours to absorb the gas. Serve through a stout tap for that signature creamy head. Nitro cold brew looks and drinks like a craft beer—customers love the texture, the look, and the taste. It’s a smart way to expand your drink menu with minimal equipment and no ongoing complexity. Bonus Tip Use signage and tasting notes to promote both options. Cold brew and nitro cold brew aren’t just drinks—they’re conversation starters. Get your team behind it and it will sell itself.

What are the different Coffee Roast LevelsWhen it comes to coffee, roast level matters. It shapes the flavour, aroma, and how well your brew pairs with milk. In Australia’s vibrant coffee scene, we favour balance, complexity, and a smooth finish—so knowing your roast types helps you choose the right blend for your customers or home setup. Here’s a quick breakdown of the most common roast profiles used by Aussie roasters: Light Roast (205°C – New England) Light brown with high acidity and bright, fruity flavours. Perfect for black coffee lovers or filter brewers chasing complexity and clarity. Medium Roast (210°C – American) Light to medium brown, with mild sweetness and a balanced profile. Great for batch brew or pour-over—still vibrant, but with a little more body. Espresso Roast / City Roast (219°C) A classic Aussie espresso roast. Behind the Beans: How Ublend® Uses Roast Curves to Craft Consistent, High-Quality CoffeeAt Ublend®, roasting is where flavour comes alive — and we don’t leave it to chance. Using multiple Brambati roasters, each equipped with advanced computer-controlled roast profiling software, we turn high-grade green beans into perfectly consistent, flavour-rich coffee that’s tailored to your brand. What Is a Roast Curve? A roast curve is a temperature-over-time graph used during the roasting process. It tracks how heat is applied to the beans, capturing key stages like: Drying Phase (0–4 min). Beans lose their natural moisture. Even drying ensures the centre and surface roast uniformly, avoiding baked or scorched flavours. Maillard Reaction (4–8 min). This is where the magic happens — sugars and amino acids react, creating caramel notes, body, and aroma. It's the base of complexity in the cup. First Crack (~8–9 min). Beans pop as internal pressure rises. From here, development is key — roast too little, and it’s sour; too long, and it becomes flat or bitter. Development Phase. Post–first crack, the profile is shaped. This is where sweetness, body, and roast intensity come together. Ublend's Roasting System: Power + Precision We roast on multiple Brambati roasting systems, each fitted with sophisticated roast management software. This professional-grade setup lets us: Design and store roast curves for every blend, single origin, or customer profile Track temperature, rate-of-rise, and airflow in real time Adjust on the fly or replicate exact curves for total consistency Scale up easily — from 10 kg test batches to large-scale production These systems are trusted by some of the world’s most respected coffee brands — and now, by Ublend private label clients.
