Our coffee roasting facility in Melbourne spans over 1,200 square metres of purpose-built warehouse and production space, engineered from the ground up to meet the demands of large-scale, high-quality roasting.
At the core of our operations is Brambati — a name synonymous with craftsmanship, innovation, and industrial reliability. With multiple Brambati drum roasters installed across the plant in various sizes, we have the flexibility to handle a wide spectrum of roasting needs — from 5 kg sample batches to multi-tonne production runs, week in, week out.
With a roasting and packing capacity of over 30 tonnes per week, our system is designed for both speed and precision. Everything is automated on-site, from green bean intake and weighing to roasting, cooling, destoning, and final packaging — ensuring tight quality control and minimal manual intervention, even at scale.
But this setup isn’t just about output. It's built around customer success. Whether it’s a café roasting their own brand through Ublend®, or a retailer needing export volumes, our Brambati-based operation allows us to tailor solutions to match flavour goals, volume needs, and market timelines.
Why We Chose Brambati — and Why We’re Still Raving About It
We’ve worked closely with Brambati to install two major roasting systems and build out a complete production line. Our flagship 120 kg drum roaster has now been in continuous operation for over a decade. It’s still performing flawlessly — and with regular maintenance and software upgrades, it’s nowhere near done.
Why Drum Roasters (Like Brambati’s) Are the Backbone of Great Coffee
While there are many roasting systems out there — hot air, fluid bed, infrared — drum roasting remains the gold standard for commercial, specialty, and private label operations.
Drum roasters, like those designed by Brambati, use a mix of conduction (direct contact with the drum) and convection (hot air circulation) to create a highly controllable, even roast. This method is ideal for developing deeper, richer flavour profiles, especially for espresso and milk-based drinks — where sweetness, body, and texture are essential.
They offer broader batch size flexibility, excellent profile repeatability, and integrate easily into automated production lines — all of which is essential when scaling a roastery to commercial levels without compromising cup quality.
The Brambati Advantage: What It Brings to Our Business
1. Consistent Product Quality
Automated roast profiling ensures precise, repeatable results. This is crucial for brand reputation — especially in our private label and wholesale work, where clients rely on us to deliver the same flavour every time.
2. Flexible Production Capacity
Brambati’s range of roaster sizes and modular design allows us to roast multiple SKUs in a day, from micro-lots to full pallet orders. We can easily switch between blends or roast levels while maintaining throughput.
3. Operational Efficiency
Brambati roasters use energy-efficient burners and feature fast roast cycles, which helps reduce our cost per kg. Automation also reduces labour dependency, improves throughput, and cuts downtime between batches.
4. Smart Technology & Data
With real-time monitoring and roast data logging, we can quickly troubleshoot, adjust profiles, and ensure compliance with certifications like Organic and Rainforest Alliance. The system is also IoT-ready, giving us room to grow with future tech integrations.
5. Brand & Product Development
From single-origin filter roasts to dialled-in espresso blends, Brambati’s flexibility allows us to customise profiles to suit each client's brand — a major part of our Ublend® "Your Coffee, Your Brand" promise.
6. Long-Term Cost Savings
These machines are built to last. Our 10+ year-old 120kg roaster still runs like new — saving us the cost of replacements, minimising maintenance, and retaining strong resale value if we ever upgrade.
7. Sustainability Built-In
Brambati’s heating systems are energy-conscious, helping us reduce our carbon footprint and align with sustainability messaging — increasingly important for both consumers and our B2B partners.
8. Support & Reliability
Brambati’s global support network is the best we’ve experienced. Whether it’s scheduled maintenance or emergency troubleshooting, they’re fast, knowledgeable, and genuinely care about keeping us roasting.
Final Word: Brambati Is a Roaster, a Partner, and a Long-Term Advantage
If you’re building a roasting business that values quality, control, and scale, there’s no better partner than Brambati. The machines are exceptional — but just as importantly, the people behind them are too.
To Fabrizio, Andrea, and the Brambati team: grazie mille. You’ve helped us build a world-class roasting operation — and we’re just getting started.
Roastery Update – Brambati Legends!
Time for a big, coffee-fuelled shoutout to the absolute legends at Brambati.
We recently hit a small snag with a blower — locked up the system (oops) — but one call to Brambati Italy and BAM! Remote engineer online, problem solved, coffee flowing. That’s world-class support.
To the Brambati team: you guys are the real MVPs of coffee roasting. Grazie mille — we couldn’t do it without you!
